Health and safety
Employers have a responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of their employees and they are also responsible for any visitors to their premises such as customers, suppliers and the general public.
All businesses employing five or more people must have a formal written health and safety policy.
An employer is under a duty to assess and monitor the risks to health and safety.
An employer is required to appoint a ‘competent person’ to oversee health and safety matters within the workplace.
